Andrea and Bill Burnett
Bill is a lawyer and Andrea is a horsewoman extraordinaire.
After years of riding, she now devotes her time to driving,
along with teaching and training. Andrea trained extensively with
international driving competitor, Phil Hannemann . She purchased our
exquisite Barnaby and we think the two of them are an incredible team!
Merv and Maridelle Crake
Merv is retired from Shell Oil and he and Maridelle had a desire to raise small horses
upon retirement. They saw Caspians at the Texas State Fair in 2000 and came to
Texana Farms a year later and purchased an exquisite mare, Esther. This terrific couple
plans to use Esther in a Christian Ministry and Maridelle is riding her as well! Maridelle
reports, "to see her trust in us, her gentleness, her desire to please has been rewarding."
Esther was recently bred to our stallion Karamat.
Mary and Ron Harrison
Ron is retired from the University of Illinois and Mary is employed by the Federal Government.
Mary is another enthusiastic and avid horse lover. They had both only read about Caspians and
thought they looked just like little Arabians. They visited in person and purchased
the stallion, Moses and the broodmare Hafeeda. Ron was surprised and impressed with the Caspian's
fluid movement stating, "it is not at all pony-like as I would have expected." Mary commented:
"most young stallions are nippy, but Moses displayed none of that!" These two will be helping
introduce the breed in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Their plans for the Caspians
Stan and Rev. Cynthia Forde
This couple has recently finished construction on a beautiful new home on their sprawling ranch.
Their latest additions are Caspians Jamal, Summer and Charber. The Fordes have wonderful
grandchildren who will be riding and growing up with the Caspians. They also will be
assisting in a handi-cap riding program with their horses. Stan is interested in
driving and both Jamal and Charber are trained to harness. They are anxiously
awaiting Summer's foal this spring!
Dr. and Mrs. Leonard
The Leonards have two young children. When they arrived at Texana Farms, they knew that
the very sweet Caspian Siykander was the perfect riding choice. But Mom says that most of
all, they want Siykander to be a loving companion for their children. She also reports
being "amazed at the horses's love and acceptance of his new family." They also recently
acquired the Caspian mare Linnet to join the family.
Joel Morris and Nadine Holbert
This family is actively involved in all areas of horsemanship. The girls, Andrea 15 and Allie 7,
are active in 4H, trail riding, English and Western eventing along with Mom. Caspians
Aishab and Rabiz are already earning their stripes and made their debut appearance at
4H on their second day home. And….Joel is learning to drive! Last report…….they and
their Caspians were instantly falling in love.
Jami is an exceptional young lady. She has started her very first riding school and is an
avid horselover. She has acquired the Caspian gelding Cool Climate, who is beautifully trained
for hunter/jumper. Cool Climate was an integral part of our riding academy this summer
and garnered many show ribbons. We are delighted that Jami's students will have such an
incredible little horse to train on!
Charlie and Joe Howard
Charlie Howard is a Texas State Representative. He and his wife Joe are also proud grandparents.
They are pictured with daughter Julie and one of their grandchildren sitting on top of their new Caspian.
Julie is a talented horsewoman and her children will be learning mom's riding skills with
their new Caspian Farah.
Toni is a terrific lady who had the opportunity to take early retirement and fulfill
her dreams of horse ownership. She recently acquired a ranch complete with a charming
rock house. She selected the Caspian mares Sherry, Hannah, Sharon and stallion, Ollie.
She has already started her breeding program and we are anxious to see her nursery
photos next year! She also has a friend in the mental health field and they hope to
incorporate the Caspians into her therapy in the near future.
Misty and Jed Harris
This terrific couple saw the Caspian gelding Siykander at his new home in Arkansas and wanted
very much to become involved with the Caspians as well. They have a very young child
and feel the Caspians will be perfect for riding, companionship and loving. They had
a very difficult time narrowing their choice, but selected three awesome yearlings:
Matthew, Chloe and Abigail. They can expect many years of fun growing up together!
Rob and Marlene Collins
Marlene contacted us to find a kind and gentle horse for their 4 year old daughter to learn to
ride on. After looking at dozens of our Caspians, Marlene quickly pointed out our very
refined Naomi, an adorable yearling filly. Daughter Callie and Naomi will be wonderful
growing up companions and we expect great things from those two.
Jill Myers and Michael Knight
Jill, Michael and their three children, Sterling, Spencer and Samantha Scarlett recently
left the city life for life in the country. They wanted their children to experience
growing up with and caring for horses as they once did. They selected 3 Caspians,
Rhia, Stephi and Stephanie. Spencer, age 6, said, "I can train them very well!"
Jill commented, "The Caspians are very amiable and our kids can learn responsibility."
Steve and Bonnie Covey
The Coveys own and operate both a construction company and a popular restaurant.
They also raise paint horses and are proud Grandparents of baby Chloe. They recently
completed a new barn and decided to add a Caspian to the stable. They selected the
adorable black gelding Gabriel. The Covey's 11 yr old son, Sam, bonded immediately
with Gabriel while loading him on the trailer. Sam says:
&I plan to walk and feed Gabriel.& We know Gabriel is going to appreciate Sam!
Robert and Vivian Miller
Robert is a manufacturing Cutter and Vivian is a CPA. They are proud parents of
Bailey Anne. Vivian expressed interest in the Caspian breed for Bailey Anne to
learn riding and barrel racing. After visiting Texana Farms, they selected Sasha,
who is in foal to our exquisite Karamat. They also selected the stallion Zebbie.
We'll be watching for Bailey Anne's progress reports!
Linda bought her first Caspian colt and says, "I quickly fell in love with this
majestic breed and had to add more to our family. We bought Sarah, Celeste,
Bethany and stallion Fiddaz. Our experience could not have
been better! We got exactly what we were looking for!!" Daughters Dezarae
and Stacia are pictured.
